Whiskey is always best on its own, but it also makes for amazing cocktails. Have you heard of the Godfather? It is a delicious and very simple cocktail served on the rocks with equal parts Scotch whisky and amaretto. Don’t let the bartender ruin your Godfather with a dash of coke in there – it is much better in its traditional form.
For something a bit lighter and more refreshing we can recommend the Mint Julep, with Bourbon, fresh mint, sugar and water with crushed ice. This one looks really nice as well with some fresh mint leaves sticking out of the whiskey glass, which makes it a perfect cocktail for fancy occasions with friends and family. It is fresh, a bit sour and a bit sweet, in just the right combination.
Another fancy good-looking whiskey cocktail is Sazerac. It looks as edgy as it is, with rye whiskey, absinthe, Peychaud’s bitters, a sugar cube and a twisted orange peel that alerts the drinker that something exciting is about to happen. In their mouths and maybe their minds, because absinthe has some interesting effects.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Manhattan. Perhaps the #1 whiskey cocktail. Shake it up with Rye or Canadian whiskey, sweet red vermouth, Angostura bitters, and a twist of lemon peel for show. Lastly, you can create your own whiskey cocktail stickers for your next party with the customize stickers app. Stick them on your invitations to surprise your guests with a unique invitation!
